TOM WESSELMANN

Français plus bas

A breath of fresh air invaded the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts this month! A retrospective of POP ART's most famous "unknown" artist TOM WESSELMAN. What a treat to walk through this colorful and ingenious exhibit. The photographs on top can only give you a suggestion of what you will experience once inside. The magnitude of the pieces makes one feel in a land of giants. What is also notable is that his work has all been done lovingly by his own hand.

It is important to note that MARCO LIVINGSTONE, an internationally renowned art historian, has returned as guest curator with the Museum's own STÉPHANE AQUIN for this retrospective. Marco Livingstone's last contributions at the Museum were GEORGE SEGAL and DUANE HANSON, two exquisite exhibitions I was priviledged to experience.
From May 19 to October 7 2012

Also note that you still have until June 13 2012 to visit the The International Biennial of Digital Art: First Edition (BIAN)at the Museum. You will experience the complex work FRAGMENTATION a collaboration between Sarah Kenderdine, Jeffrey Shaw and Robert Lepage. The entrance for this event is free.
